MOTOR-CYCLING IN THE MUD
THE ULSTER GRAND PRIX. STANLEY WOODS AGAIN WINS. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 5.5 p.m. London, Sept. 3. ■ Dare-devil motor-cyclists, soaked to the skin and covered with mud, engaged in a terrific contest for the Ulster Grand Prix. Stanley Woods was the winner of the 500 c.c. class, in which Simcock was third. Woods declared the race was more like aquatic sports. The machines bucked and kicked up volumes of mud when they traversed bumps, leaping in the air and rebounding with horrible uncertainty. Woods has won three times in succession. He averaged 85.15 miles an hour.
The winner of the 350/250 c.c. class was G. Smith (77.89 miles an hour), with E| Mellors (73.34 miles an hour) second.
