BRITISH COTTON TROUBLE
GOVERNMENT WATCHES CLOSELY. ITS INTERVENTION EXPECTED. British Wireless. Rugby, Aug. 18. The Prime Minister (Mr. Ramsay MacDonald) while at his Lossiemouth home has- been following the developments in the wages dispute affecting the manufacturing section of the Lancashire cotton industry and has been in touch with the Ministry of Labour regarding it. Newspapers anticipate official intervention to avoid the stoppage threatened on August 27.
