They have played Connelly’s remarkable fable 1028 times and they go on the road again in October for another 1000 nights. It is. the greatest spectacular success and the biggest stage . money-maker since.“ Ben Hur.” “Green Pastures” deals -ith the negro’s idea and ideal of a negro heaven, and part of the action • takes place in the celestial fields where the darkies enter the kind of paradise that they have yearned for during their life on earth. Tho figure of the Deity is prominent, and is played by a coloured man. The dialogue is rather startling from the standards of white civilisation, but to those who know the simple faith and love of grandeur vf the negroes, it is ««aid to be most impressive and beautiful.
