BUOYANT REVENUE RECEIPTS

IMPROVEMENT IN AUSTRALIA. FEDERAL SURPLUS LAST MONTH. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Sydney, August 11. Offical statements issued by the Commonwealth and New South Wales Treasuries indicate buoyant revenue receipts for July. The Federal revenue for the month was £6,052,000, being £983,000 greater than the expenditure and £558,000 greater than the revenue in July of last year, which in turn was £840,000 less 'than the expenditure for that month. There was therefore an improvement of £1,823,000 in last month’s figures compared with those of July, 1931.

The New South. Wales revenue for July was £3,083,510, £613,965 more than for July, 1931. The expenditure totalled £3,164,355, an increase of £254,207. Thus the position in July of this year improved by £359,758 in comparison with that of July', 1931.
