COUNTRY BEATEN AT INGLEWOOD. The football match between Inglewood school and a combined country schools’ team at Jubilee Park yesterday resulted in a win for Inglewood by 14 points to 3. The Inglewood team was a little too heavy and experienced, although its lighter opponents played a cerditable game. In the first spell Inglewood, with the advantage of the sun, pressed early. Dan picked up about 30 yards from the line, and after a determined run scored wide out, Young Jailing to convert. Two easy penalty snots were missed by Country. The play moved back to Country territory, where Young missed with a penalty. Half-time was called shortly afterwards with the score: Inglewood 3, Combined 0. Most of the play was confined to Country territory during the second spell. From a passing rush Julian scored, and a little later another passing rush saw Dan cross the line, Young converting the latter try. Corbett led the Country team into Inglewood territory, and from a penalty J. Bennett landed a good goal. Play had not been in progress many minutes before Dan again crossed the line, making the final score: Inglewood 14, Combined Country 3, Mr. Julian refereed.
