GOLD SMUGGLING SUSPECTED
’MAN SEARCHED AT SYDNEY. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 10.55 p.m. Sydney, Aug. 9. The police made a thorough search of a man’s effects upon his arrival from New Zealand by the Zealandia to-day, in consequence of advice from Wellington. The man is suspected of smuggling gold out of New Zealand. No gold was found, however, and the man was allowed to land.
