SCHOLAR ASHAMED. TAKES TO BURGLARY. London, July 15. Because leak Schwartz, aged 20, a Bulgarian employed as a tailor’s cutter, wafl°eo ashamed of his crooked nose he became a burglar. He was a brilliant scholar, according to evidence at the Sonthden Quarter Sessions. Schwartz pleaded guilty to housebreaking and burglary. It was stated that accused would not emerge in the street in daylight, and spent much of his time attempting to straighten his nose. A prison doctor said Schwartz was sensitive and imagined people were staring at him. After his counsel had said that Schwartz had commenced ecclesiastical work, but suddenly began house-break-ing, the recorder bound accused over for medical treatment.
