SWALLOWED TEETH
DEATH OF A MAN. CYCLED TO HOSPITAL. After having swallowed his upper set of false teeth, Harry Herron, aged 29, a railway servant, cycled to the Christchurch. Hospital. He was operated on, was taken very ill, and died. Herron was a married man with two children, and lived at 113 Estuary Road, New Brighton. An inquest was held before Mr. E. D. Mosley, coioner. Mrs. Catherine Daisy Herron said that her husband wore an upper plate with four false teeth. The plate was broken and had lost its suction, and the sides had jagged edges. On Thursday, following his usual custom, he wore the plate to bed. Shortly after midnight she heard her husband coughing. He told her that he must have swallowed his teeth. After attempting to dislodge them he went to a doctor, who told him to go to Christchurch Hospital immediately. ~ , . , , Mr Herron rode on his bicycle to hospital. He was operated on, and died later. A post-mortem examination was ordered.
