RESULTS OF HOCKEY GAMES.
The Tokaora ladies’ hockey team visited Hawera on Wednesday .to meet, the High School team, and after a wellcontested game Tokaora emerged victorious by one goal to nil. The game was-played in excellent spirit, and although the school girls were beaten they were certainly not disgraced. The visitors were entertained at afternoon tea after the match,' when Miss P. Bollond returned thanks for the hospitality extended to the Tokaora team. Mr. Gray, headmaster' of the High School, replied. The Tokaora men's • team, who won the junior competition in the southern division, are undergoing a period of rest while the competitions in the north are being completed. Nevertheless the members 0 of the team are paying special attention to training and are confident of giving a good account of themselves in the coming finale. , ’ There was a representative gathering at the usual euchre party and dance which was held in the hall on Thurs- j day evening. The euchre results were : unusual, for three of four prizes were i annexed by the Burrell family, Scott : Road. The ladies’ first prize was won by Miss Ki Burrell, and Mrs. Burrell secured the ladies’ second prize. , Mr. Burrell succeeded in carrying off the men’s second prize. Mr. F. Cleaver won the men’s first prize. i ■The Tokaora dairy factory has had the privilege of appearing at the beginning of the season freshly garbed in a new coat of paint, while much necessary work has also been done within its , walls. The general brightening of the locality and the provision of extra facilities will make the work more congenial for those employed in the building during the coming season.
