She is due to sail to-day for Wanganui and from there will return to Onehunga, being due at New Plymouth again on Wednesday, (Northern Co.). MOVEMENTS OF OVERSEAS SHIPS. MAHIA IN PORT. The Shaw, Savill and. Albion steamer Mahia arrived at New Plymouth yesterday morning from Wanganui, to continue loading for the Home market. She will lift 5800 boxes of butter, 4000 crates of cheese and 11,000 freight carcases of meat, and is expected, to sail for Wellington'to-morrow. The Mahia will complete at Wellington and is scheduled to clear there on August 4 for Souhampton and London. CARGO FROM AUSTRALIA. The Union Company advises that the Karepo is scheduled to load at Adelaide about the middle, of August and she will complete loading at Melbourne for New Plymouth, Auckland, Napier and Wellington, in that order. HALS. DUNEDIN REPORTS. ' H.M.S. Dunedin has reported by wireless that she will arrive at Auckland on Monday morning. The warship is returning to New Zealand after a stay of over a year in England, undergoing an extensive overhaul and refitting. TAINUI CLEARS COLON. The Shaw, Savill and Albion passenger liner Tainui, which left Wellington on July 1 for Southampton and London, sailed from Colon on Saturday morning. The Tainui loaded 10,000 boxes of .butter and 5000 crates of cheese at New Plymouth on June 15. THE WESTMORELAND. .To complete loading for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, the Federal Line steamer Westmoreland sailed from Auckland for Gisborne, Napier and Wellington on Tuesday evening, From Wellington she is scheduled to sail for London on August 6. The Westmoreland loaded 17,600 freight carcases at New Plymouth on July 14. FORRESBANW DUE TO SAIL. The Bank Line motor-ship Forresbank fs expected to complete her discharge of Nauru phosphate at New Plymouth today. She will then sail for Wanganui to complete her New Zealand discharge. RUAHINE DUE AT WELLINGTON. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s passenger liner Ruahine, from London, is expected to arrive in the stream at Wellington at 8 a.m. to-day, and at New Plymouth on August 6. She will load dairy produce at New Plymouth for the Home market. KENT SAILS FOR LONDON. The Federal liner Kent, having completed her Homeward loading programme, sailed from Lyttelton at 9 a.m. on Tuesday for London Avonmouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via Montevideo and Dakar. The Kent loaded 7000 freight carcases of meat, 12,269 boxes of butter and 5019 crates of cheese at New Plymouth on July 14. CAPTAIN MACMILLAN’S DEATH. Captain Donald Macmillan, a wellknown New Zealand Shipping Company n ster, died of heart failure at Lowmore, Isley, Argyllshire, on June 12. The late Captain Macmillan came of seafaring stock and went to sea as a boy. Not many details of his career at sea are known in New Zealand, but he was chief officer of the Shropshire (now ,tho Rotorua) during the war, the Shropshire being engaged in carrying troops For some years he was in command ’of the New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Opawa. In 1927 he took command of the Federal steamer Cumberland. He retired from service at sea because of ill-health and was in his early ’fifties at the time of his death. Ho is survived by his wife.
