GENERAL AND [PERSONAL. At the last flag 500 evening held by the Kaponga Anglican social committee there was the largest 7 attendance yet, 11 tables being occupied. Mr. and Mns. R. D. Dagg, Mrs. H. A. T. Gallagher, and Mrs. W. Blackwell jun. were the winners. Following supper the floor was cleared for dancing, which lasted to well after npdnight to music supplied by Mrs. I. Evans, while Mr. R. A. Grace was master of ceremonies. In continuation of his missionary crusade to all parishes in the Waitotara archdeaconry th© Ven. Archdeacon J. R. Young conducted, a special service in St. Mark’s Anglican Church, Kaponga, on Monday evening, when there was a fair congregation. An interesting address was given. Mr. Pat O’Donoghue, who has been on an extended holiday to relatives in th© Te Aroha district, returned last week. Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Jones, who have been visiting Mr. Jones’ parents, Mr. and Mre. T. T. Jones, have returned to their home at New Plymouth. Mr. W. Hislop jun., New Plymouth, has returned home after visiting friends at Kaponga. Mrs. J. Guy, who has been visiting relatives at Pungarehu, returned, last week.
Mr. A. Jones, Runanga, who has been visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. T. Jones, has returned home. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Sleeman and family, Upper Manaia Road, are visiting Feilding for a few days. They are accompanied by Mr. Jack Gardiner. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Wells have re-, turned from Otahuhu, where they have been holiday-making with relatives. The postmaster, Mr. <’ A. Corder, left on Saturday morning on his annual leave, which is being spent in the Wellington and Otaki districts.
