WOMAN KILLED IN COLLISION

CAR CRASH IN CANTERBURY.

Ashburton, July 15.

As 'the result of a collision between two cars at the intersection of two country roads at 5 o’clock yesterday, Mrs. . Harriett Gifkins, aged 78, widow, residing at Mount Somere, received head injuries and shock from which eho died at 3 this morning in tho Methven Cottage Hospital. Mrs. Gifkins was returning from Christchurch with her son and a woman friend when their car collided with another driven by the Rev. Richard Morgan, Methven. Mrs. Gifkins was tire only one injured. Both ears were badly damaged.
