Late rates were maintained for fat sheep at the Feilding stock sale today, when an exceptionally heavy yarding was offered. The quality generally was good and there was practically a total clearance. The freezing companies took almost the whole. Quotations were:—

There was a very heavy yarding of dairy stock, with a good clearance, though dairy farmers arc evidently not anticipating a sharp rise hr butterfat prices. The majority of the yarding comprised springing heifers, and the best of these went at up to £5 145., with good lines at £4. Heifers in fair condition ranged from .£3 to £3 155., late cal vers from £2 7s. 6d., poor lines 37 s. upward, cows in milk £4 7s. Gd.

A heavier offering came forward of fat cattle, including some bullocks of good weight. Hereford bullocks made £5 Bs., other bullocks £3 105.,. fa t steers £2 175., P.A. heifers, light £2 18s., good weight heifers at £3 55., S.H. cows, good weights to £3 25., others at £2 ss. to £2 10s., light fat Jersey cows, good condition £2 to £2 75., backward from 295.

PEDIGREE JERSEY SALE.

FAIR PRICES AT WHANGAREI.

Whangarei, June 10.

The fourth annual pedigree female sale held under the auspices of the Whangarei Jersey Club was held at the Kensington show grounds in good weather and in the presence of a large number of buyers. The entries were good and the quality excellent. About 90 lots were sold and the prices realised were considered very satisfactory under present-day conditions. The best price paid during the sale was 63 guineas, which Dr. G. Walker, Maunu, paid for Mr. E. Phillips’ heifer Someview Sunray.' In addition, Dr. Walker paid 40 guineas for Silverdale Rosamund, sold by Mr. George Hodgson. Mr. H. Armstrong, Maunu, paid 51 guineas for Mr. J. G. Hodgson’s heifer Miss Valma. LONDON DAIRY MARKET. A cablegram received from London by the Anglo-Continental Company on Saturday stated: “Butter is quiet at 95s io 96s per cwt, and cheese is slow at 54s to 555.”
