(From Our Own Correspondent.) At the.’Norfolk’s Women' B Institute monthly meeting. . Mr. V. Davies ■New Plymouth, gave an interesting addre&s on the growing and care of shrubs, etc., for which he was accorded a vote of thanks. A- competition ’for the best five scones, which were judged by Mrs. Adnams, was-won. by Mrs- Herdman. It was decided to form a link with an institute in England.. The hostesses were Mesdames O’Sullivan and Voitrekovsky and Miss Maida Gorney. Mrs. Adnams granted the use of her residence for the next two' meetings. The institute has formed a library and thanks were extended to Mrs. Whitaker for a donation of books; to Mesdames Burgess, Byrne and Voitrekovsky for organising euchre parties to provide funds, and to those who donated euchre prize's. •A very successful euchre party and dance was held in the school last week. The euchre prizes were won by. MrsDavis 1, Mrs. Beale 2, and Mr. Whitaker 1. Music was supplied by Mrs. Trass and Mr. Byrne was master of ceremonies. The Norfolk basketball team met the Eltham team on the Norfolk .ground and were defeated by 16 t° Miss Mollie Dombroski has .been chosen as the “Mountain” candidate for the Tariki carnival queen contest. Airs, and Miss Luckin, who have been the guests of Mrs. Dombroski, have returned to Kaimata. Miss Wolferstan, who has been the guest of Mrs. Whitaker, has returned to New Plymouth. Airs. Frazier, who has been the guest of her mother, Airs. Laurence, has returned to Wanganui. Alias Ona' Laurence is ’ the guest of Airs. Frazier,‘Wanganui;
