BUTTER AND CHEESE BOTH FALL. Cheese Quotations- — Yesterday: White 545.; coloured 545. to 555.; quiet. Last week: White 565. to sis.; coloured 565. to 575,; quiet. Butter Quotations— Yesterday: 955. to 965.; slow. Last week: 965. to 975.; steady. Prices for both butter and cheese have 1 fallen since the end of last week, and there is little sign of improvement at present, according to cables received in New Plymouth from London yesterday. Cheese is 2s. lower all round than it was last week and is at the same level as at this time last year. Butter has fallen by Is. in the week and is about 16s. lower than last year. and shows no signs of improvement at present: Salted, 955. to 965. (955. to 975. on May 27); unsalted, 945. to 98s. (945. to 985.). The cheese market ,is ao-ain quieter with no advance obtainable: White, 545. (575.); coloured, 545. A. S. Paterson and Co., Ltd. (Lonsdales): Both markets are easier. Butter: New Zealand 965., Australian 9as. Cheese: White 545., coloured 545. to sos. E. Griffiths (A. J. Mills and Co.): Ihe butter market is very slow. New Zealand finest, 955.
