Mrs. G. H. B. Fitzgerald, who has been the guest of Mrs. Wanklyn, has returned to Eltham.

Mrs. McAllum was “at home” on Saturday afternoon.

Mrs. Faria entertained at her home on Monday afternoon. Amongst those present were Mesdames Gibbs, O’Carroll, Winfield, Henderson, Nicholls, I. Grant and Gow.

Miss Marjorie Dixon, Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs. lan Grant.

Miss Hastie has left for a visit to Hawera.

Mrs. Wanklyn entertained on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons. Among those present were Mesdames Faris, Tait, Torrens, A. Grant, Messenger, Winter, McKinney, McGowan, Sinclair, Gilliver, Leech, Atkins and Ross.

Mrs. W. Marshall and her son have returned to their home at Manunui after spending a holiday with Mrs. Alex Marshall, Inglewood.

The Norfolk Road W.E.A. held its weekly meeting at the residence of Miss Trimble, when Eugene O’Neill's play, “All God’s Chillun Got Wings,” was read. Those taking part were Mesdames Egarr, W. Brown, Adnanis, Allen and Misses Trimble (2).

Beautifully decorated with blue and black streamers, ferns, holly and various coloured balloons, the hall at Tariki presented a very pretty scene on Tuesday evening when the Tariki hockey club held a most successful dance. The music was supplied by Claude Smith’s Regal Dance Band. Supper arrangements were in the hands of Mesdames Gush, McCullum, E. and L. Loveridge and W. Robertson. Among those present were Mesdames H. McCullum, wine celanese; H. Gush, floral crepe de chine; L. Loveridge, floral georgette; W. Robertson, lido blue satin and coatee; Misses J. Young, pink taffetas and net; C. Young, green L. and R, Hiicker, pink crepe de chine; L. Loveridge, black velvet and coatee; M. Hucker, green satin; A. Bonniface (Stratford), white satin; M. Berridge (New Plymouth), floral georgette; E. 'Cassidy, green organdie; J. Mail (Stratford), red lace; D. Mail, green lace; G. Tapp (Midhirst), green satin; C. Copestake, blue satin; M. Sutton (Inglewood), blue satin and coatee.
