MARKET RATES STEADY.
Hamilton, Juno 7. A fairly heavy offering of ox 'beef and an average yarding of cow beef met with a steady demand at the Frankton stock sale to-day. Prices for good quality sorts showed ‘little variation on' last wpek’s rates, but plain and inferior animals were easier of sale. Fat ewes and wethers were again penned in larger numbers than usual, and values showed no improvement on last week’s quotations. Owing to the short supply, bacon - ers sold at slightly increased rates, while prices for porkers also showed, a firming tendency. Sheep: Heavy fat wethers sold at 12s 6d to 14s; lighter, Ils to 12s; killable, 9s to 10s 6d; fat ewes, 5s 6d to 6s 6d; lighter, 4s 9d to 5s Id.; heavy prime fat lambs, 17s; heavy, 12s 6d to 14s; medium, Ils to 12s; light, 9s to 10s 6d; runners, 24s to 28s.

TWO SHILLING DROP ALL ROUND. The ‘butter market is quiet, quotations being from 96s to 975, reports, the Anglo-Continental Produce Co. Ltd. Danish is selling at 84s f.o.b. The cheese market is quiet at 54s to 555. These prices are a reduction of , two shillings on both butter and' cheese since the last reports received at the end of last week.
