BOMBAY DISTURBANCES SPREAD.
TROOPS COMPELLED TO FIRE.

The ave-old religious antagonism of Hindus and Moslems, which has flared in Bombay, shows signs of spreading to other centres, the latest disturbance being in the Hindu State of Alwar, where communal feeling culminated w grave incidents. . , Crowds of both communities, aimed with swords, axes, scythes, . reaping hooks and knives, gathered m the streets. State troops prevented a.clash, but the crowds stampeded and the troops, fearing an fire, killing three and wounding 40. The ten sion continues. . . , . Three were killed and 20 injured in Hindu-Moslem riots at Pundria, a small town in the Punjab. . . Four were killed and many injured in communal rioting in several villages in Jessore, near Calcutta. Armed police separated the infuriated rioters, numbering several thousands. . Stabbing outrages continue at Bombay.
RIOTING CEASES IN BOMBAY. CASUALTIES EXCEED 2000. (British Wireless.) Rec. 5.5 p.m. Rugby, June 6. In Bombay City- communal rioting has ceased but the feeling is still very tense. The. casualties to midnight on June 3 numbered 171 killed and 1008 injured.
