SCHOOL COMMITTEE’S DANCE. IMROVEMENTS TO GROUNDS. The I’uiiilio school committee's fortnightly euchre and dance party held on Thursday was again a. success and. the committee received a substantial profit. Mr. Sax Cooke (chairman) was in charge of the card tables and announced at the conclusion the prizewinners, Mr. T, de Thierry senr. amt Miss Brown. Dancing was continued to a late hour, tiie music being provided by Mrs. and Miss Bell. Mr. Wilan was master of ceremonies. A guessing competition coneluded during the evening resulted in Mr. E. Mauu’a winning the picture frame. The school grounds have been considerably improved by a working-bee organised by Mr. Hill (Okatu), superintendent of the local Sunday School. Two trees were sawn up and sufficient firewood split to last tlie school through the winter. Mr. Hill and his workers gave their services in gratitude for the use of the school to conduct the Sunday school classes during the year.
