TAXI-DRIVER ASSAULTED
ARMED ROBE.ERS TAKE CASH THREAT MADE WITH REVOLVER. THEIR ESCAPE WITH MOTOR-CAR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. An assault on a taxi-driver was made by three men who engaged a cab to drive to Mission Bay on Saturday evening and robbed the driver, L. Anlezark, of ten shillings—all he had. Two men sat behind and one with the driver, who states that when they reached Mission Bay one of the men in the back seat pressed a revolver against the driver’s ribs and demanded money. The driver wave all he had. and was then hit on the head and thrown out . of the car, in which the men drove away. The driver informed the police by telephone and the car was later found abandoned near the Parnell baths.
