GENERAL AND PERSONAL ITEMS. The Rahotu bowlers’ euchre party was a 3 well attended as usual. The first prizes were won by Mrs. Hawkes an Mr C. Looney. The ladies’ second prize was won by Mrs. Pollard after a tie with Mrs. C. Field and the men s by Mr. Nielson after a tie with Mr, Poole. The lucky spot was won by Mrs. Pollard. The evening was in charge of Mesdames Farquhar and "Whittle, with Messrs Farquhar .and Whittle. Mr., Mrs. and Miss Hughson are the guests of Mr. Fisher, Westown. Mrs. iHuHison is much improved in health. Mr. Street is progressing well after an operation. Mr. W- Callender, Waitara, who died last week, was well-known in the Rahotu district. He was the brother-in-law of Mrs. W. Hodson and Mrs. L. 'Billing. t The community singing on lliursday was well attended and the large quantity of parcels received should help a long way towards feeding th distressed. It was disappointing that Mr. Stainton and his New Plymouth party were unable io attend, but the local people managed the lead very well. Miss Gilhoolv played all the accompaniments. Mrs. Hurley, Mr. Murdoch and Mr. P. 'Sole sang solos, and Mr. Anderson gave a Norwegian song and speech. A committee was formed to further arrangements for the next evening.
