Kissless won well on Thursday but is up nearly a. stone in the weights. Air Laddie is too moody., Lady Spy failed badly the first day. Bon Eve does nob appeal, but Tangiora may bring off a surprise. Chief Link is improving fast and should strip a fitter horse to-day. Equitant and Kaihoro will set a merry pace and both can see the six furlongs out. Wanganui, Last Night. Freehold was scratched for the Wanganui 'Steeples at 2.30 p.m. DEATH OF TRAINER MASON, HAD CHARGE OF GLOAMING. Christchurch, May 13. The death has occurred of Mr. Richard. John Mason, of Riccarton, the wellknown racehorse trainer. He was 79 years of age. The champion racehorse Gloaming, which was trained, by Mason through its racing career, died on Thursday of last week.
