KAPONGA RIFLE SHOOTING

TIE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP. The Kaponga Defence Rifle Club fired the final shoot counting for the championship and handicap championship cups on Wednesday. Some very fine scores were made, the best being 48 out of 50 at each range made by L. Mellow. G. R. Smith and Doug. Hollard tied for the championship and will fire five shots at 600 yards next Wednesday to decide who will hold the cup. E. Izett won the handicap cup by one point. Following are the best scores:—
