OKOKE W.D.F.U. BRANCH

THE ANNUAL MEETING HELD. /It the third annual meeting of the Okoke branch of the W.D.F.U. the attendance was 16. The president read a report of the branch’s activities and the balance-sheet, which showed a credit of £3 2s 4d. The election of officers resulted: President, Mrs. Hargraves; vice-presidents, Mrs. Lord, Mrs. C. V. Ekdahl and Mrs. H. Whittaker; advisory members, Mrs. Waite and Mrs. Whittaker senr.; committee, Mrs. A. Jones, Mrs, C. G. Jones, Mrs. Slight, Mrs. Collingwood and Mrs. Hoskin; secretary, Mrs. A. McKeown; auditor, Mr. R. Waite. It was decided that the secretary reply to headquarters that this branch was in favour of postponing the conference this year. A letter was received from Mrs. Martin, Dominion book club, suggesting that the branch form a book club oi its own, but after some discussion jt was decided that the branch was in such a small way the idea was not at present feasible. The' club is to continue as before with Mrs. McKeown as librarian.
