RAIN LIKELY TO DEVELOP.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The weather will be line generally at first but cloud and haze will gradually increase and rain will develop in northern and eastern districts of the Korth Island and on the west coast of the South Island. Some heavy falls are probable in the Auckland province. An anticvclone has been crossing New Zealand to-day. An extensive tropical disturbance has been located to the north-west of Norfolk Island, while a depression over the southern Tasman Sea has been losing its intensity. Winds between north-easterly and south-easter-ly will prevail and freshen generally, becoming strong and squally in the far north. Seas will be rough north of East Cape and have considerable swell thence southwards to Kaikoura. Elsewhere they will be moderate.
