AVON STARS CHANGE HANDS. STRATFORD CLUB’S TROPHIES By defeating the Eltham rink which previously held the Avon stars, the Stratford Bowling Club now holds all four trophies for inter-club competition —the Sayers medal for singles matches held by K. S. Ewing, the Power medals for pairs competition held by T. 1. Skoglund (lead) andK. S. Ewing (skip), the Avon stars for single rink competition among clubs of the Central Division held by T. T. Skoglund, R. Marsh, K. S. Ewing and W. Harris («), and the Diggers’ Cup for interprcvincial competition by rinks composed of exservicemen, held by K. S. Ewing, W. E. Williams, W. Ewing and W. Harris (s). Playing on the Eltham green on Saturday the holders of the Avon stars defeated the previous holders, Schultz, Marx, Stewart, Tiplady (s), by 2A to 22 in an excellent game. Two other rinks from the Stratford Club which played a friendlj match against a couple of other rinks at Eltham suffered defeat. A. Dickinson, Avon Club, at the weekend challenged for the Sayers medal but was defeated by 16 to 13, K. S. Ewing remaining the holder.
