UNIVERSITY DISCIPLINE

behaviour of students. PjjTERMINATION OF VICTORIA, By Telegraph.—Press Associaticß. Wellington, April 28. Lately there has been, reference to the behaviour of university students at social functions associated with th* university, tournament. The chairman of the Professorial Board of Victoria College told the College Council that both°the board and the students themselves had the matter in hand and extreme disciplinary measures would b* taken to deal with any students who failed to observe the canons of decent behaviour. Unless the social function* connected with the college could be conducted with propriety the board would not permit the holding of such functions.

The chief offenders, he said, were not always students but often persons who had no excuse whatever and in som* cases -had never been students. It wa* hoped to exclude them from future functions.
