CURBING WILFUL DAMAGE
MAN IMPRISONED AT DUNEDIN. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, April 21. John Vincent Jeffries, a native of Liverpool, was sentenced to three months’ gao] for breaking a butcher’s window, valued at 120, and stealing a roll of bacon. The police said the offence was of a “smash and grab” type, similar to that at Auckland. The magistrate: “Wilful damage must be firmly curbed.”
