ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL

MOTUROA CLUB MEETS. The annual meeting of the Moturoa Association Football Club was held last night. Mr. J. R. Sceats presided over a good attendance. The report noted an improvement in the play last season. The club had won the six-a-side competition. The players were to be congratulated on their sportsmanship and clean play, through which they had earned the respect and goodwill of the other clubs. Owing to lack of means the club had been unable to send a team to Wanganui, but every effort would be made to make the trip this season. It was hoped to arrange a game with Hawera. There was a credit balance of £1 7s Sd. Officers were elected as follow: President, Mr. S. H. Price; three vice-presi-dents; secretary and treasurer, Mr. R. Roper; club captain, Mr. E. Johns; delegates to Taranaki Football Association and northern division, Messrs J. Thompson and A. Smith; committee, Messrs J. Thompson, A. Smith, S. Watson, F. Roper, R. Roper, C. White; team captain, Mr. J. Thompson; vice-captain, Mr. R. Roper. It was decided to support a proposition for the competitions that the club would be willing to travel as far as Stratford.

It was decided to hold the first practice on Saturday. It was stated that the club would have about 20 active members. 1

The subscriptions was fixed at ss. A vote of thanks was passed to Mr. J. Swainson for photographs or the six - a-side team.
