HUGE FORTUNE INHERITED

HUMBLE GERMANS BENEFIT.

Newspapers report that 32 persons in humble positions at Eilenburg and Torcran are entitled to a fortune of £16,000,000 left by Johann Gottlieb Schoene, who migrated to Australia in the middle of last "century and' made a fortune in trold-mining. He died intestate in 1899. ° A, youno- domestic servant, Sehoene’s niece, inherits £500,000, and 30 other families are interested.
The locality of the gold mines is not stated, but it is reported that the Australian Government is arranging to transfer the fortune in instalments, placing the first £250,000 at the immediate disposal of the legatees.
