A SUCCESSFUL SEASON
NEW PLYMOUTH SWIMMING CLUB.
The committee of the New Plymouth Amateur Swimming Club held its final meeting of the 1931-32 season on Monday evening. The chairman of committee, Mr. M. Smale, presided over a good attendance.
The treasurer reported that the club had closed the season with a fairly substantial'credit balance, A few accounts, however, were still outstanding. The question of the annual'dance was considered and it.'was decided that, in view of the necessity for conserving the club’s funds, no dance be held this year.
The question of trophies to be presented in the club’s aggregate, series was discussed and it was decided that the matter be left in the hands of the chairman, secretary and treasurer. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr., N. Lcaland for the donation of a trophy in the junior girls’ section Of the competitions. Resolutions were passed placing on record the club’s appreciation of the services of Mrs. F. Gayton, particularly on the social side of the club’s activities, Messr.s H. V. S. Griffiths, P. E. Stainton, R. Day and E- Meuli, for general assistance.' .. .
