COLD-BLOODED MURDER
AGED lone MAN SHOT DEAD HOBART NEIGHBOUR CHASES MEN HEARD QUARREL OVER MONEY, By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. II p.m. Hobart, April 5. Cold-blooded murder was perpetrated to-day at Harrington Street, Hobart. The victim was Charles Whelan, aged 03, a watersider living alone. He was shot dead by two men who were later seen running away from the scene. A neighbour heard men demanding money in the vilest language. They heard Whelan’s protests, then a shot and a curse. The neighbour followed the men for some distance. He then returned and found Whelan dead.
