FIRE BRIGADES’ CONTEST.

ELTHAM WIN’S CRABTREE SHIEiLD. An Eltham team won the. Crabtree Shield in fire brigades’ competitions held at Eltham yesterday for the second year in succession. Five brigades competed, the event being a thre?-man disabled fun of 25 yards. ci ir a Times were: Eltham 47sec., Stratford 47sec., Hawera 47 2-56ec., Waitara 50 3-ssee., Patea 51see. Eltham did the deciding run in 44see., and Stratford in 52s ee.

The competing teams were: Eltham: A. Cooper, J. McNab, H. Potts. , , Stratford: W. Boyd, R. Bbyd, A. FawHawera: L. Milroy, R. J. Gates, G. H. Spates: D. Ainsley, M. Fitzwater, K. Fitzwater. Waitara: J. Eriwata, Thomas, Jenkins. A challenge run under the same conditions was made, the Eltham A team winning in 43 3-56ec. The members of the team were A. Cooper, E. Nees and L. Julian.
