LEFT ON CAR RUNNING BOARD FORGETFULNESS OF THE OWNER. AUCKLAND BUSINESSMAN’S LOSS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. A Gladstone bag containing £lOO was lost this morning between Dominion Road and Grey Lynn. Herbert Valentine, a garage proprietor and drainage contractor, reported his loss to the police early this morning. Prior to leaving his home Mr. Valentine placed the small bag containing the money on the running board of his car while he went to get something which he had forgotten. He entered the car and drove to Grey Lynn, forgetting that he had left the bag on the running board. He discovered his loss on his arrival at his garage. The money consisted of a cheque for £33 made out in the name of a firm, the rest being in silver and notes.
