BILLS RECEIVED FROM HOUSE. DISCUSSION ON OTTAWA SOUGHT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The Legislative Council this afternoon appointed a Statutes Revision Committee of 18 members. • Sir James Parr informed Sir Francis Bell that an early statement would be made by toe Government in regard to toe Imperial economic conference at Ottawa. Sir James agreed that toe Council should be given an opportunity to discuss the matter. The Mortgagors’ and Tenants’ Relief Bill was received from the House and read & first time. It was then read a second time pro forma and referred to toe Statutes Revision Committee. The Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill was received from the House and read a first time. When the Council resumed at 8 p.m. toe Statutes Revision Committee reported toe Mortgagors’ and Tenants’ Relief Bill with amendments. The Bill was set down for committal to-morrow.
