BAND CONTEST AT STRATFORD.
The Taranaki brass and pipe bands’ contest will be held at Victoria Park, ■Stratford, on April 7. A feature of the afternoon will be the spectacular quickstep competition in which eleven Taranaki bands will take part. At the evening session the competing bands will be heard in selections. There will be seven shields competed for in addition to the cash prizes. A small charge of admission will be Icharged fog feoth session*, , ■
