PLUNKET SOCIETY WORK

NEW PLYMOUTH ACTIVITIES. The monthly meeting of the committee of the New Plymouth branch of the Plunket Society was held, on Monday. There were present: Mesdames Walter Weston (in the chair), C. E. Roebuck, W. B. Hosking, F. H. Moore, J. Al. Warnock, W. J. Ewart, K. F. Kirk, H. P. Gray, T. H. Bates, AV. R. AVade, F. H. Chapman, A. J. Tunbridge, A. F. Sandford, W. Clarke, E. B. Davies and the hon. secretary and treasurer (Airs. C. S. Alayer). The nurses’ report for February was ■as follows; —Number of babies on the books under two years, 478; new for month, 21; visits to homes, 200; visitors to rooms, adults 3’29, babies 305; older children, 94; advice given on domestic hygiene, 66; advice to expectant mothers, 10; expectant mothers under supervision, 26; older children under supervision, 290. Inglewood, four visits, 82 old babies, 9 new. Waitara: four visits, 64 old. babies, 5 new. Urenni: Two visits, 33 old babies, one new. Coastal district: Two visits. Mesdames T. H. Bates, W. Clarke, F. H. Chapman and E. B. Davies were appointed to arrange flowers at Plunket House from March 21 to April 15. Through Mrs. G. Home, a patroness of the society, congratulations were extended to Dr. Home upon his appointment to the office of president-elect of the New Zealand branch of the British Aledical Association.

Resignations from Alesdames R. E. Fairfax Cholmeley and G. fi. Alillar, members of the committee, were accepted with regret. Alothers holding Better Baby Club boxes are to be informed that the nurses are desirous of having these handed in at the rooms prior to Alarch 31, tue end of the financial year. During the Easter vacation the rooms will be closed from Alarch 25 to Alarch 29, both days inclusive. The society acknowledged the following subscriptions and donations received •during February: Mrs. Croker 10s, Alesdames AV. L. Finnigan, A. J. Saunders, R. Old, A. A. Gray, L. Fieldes, and Hawkings each Sa.
