ARRIVAL IN NEW YORK.

I HOPEFUL FOR AUSTRALIA.

New York, Feb. 11.

General E. J. Higgins, head of the Salvation Army, has arrived in New York from London, en route to Toronto. From there he will go to Australia to stimulate Army activities throughout the country. “I expect to prove that the time is ripe for a-religious revival,” he said.

Although he is disheartened by the rather low level to which affaire have sunk in England, General Higgins says he believes a favourable reaction is setting in there, and is optimistic that conditions have changed for the better in Australis. >
