.Mrs. Honeyfield sen. entertained a number of her friends at her home last Tuesday afternoon and evening. In the evening bridge was played and at the close of the games the prizes were presented, Miss Kelly and Dr. Simmons receiving prizes for highest score and Mrs. W. Paterson and Mr. L. F. Row for lowest score. Among the guests were Dr. and Mrs. W. T. Simmons, Mr. and Mrs. W. Paterson, Mr. and Mrs. L. Honeyfield, Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Row, Misses Walker, Leslie, Kelly and R. Honeyfield, Messrs C. R., 1., K.», and L. Honeyfield.

Miss Gertie Hall was guest of honour at a surprise party taken to her parents’ home, “Shasta Knoll,” the occasion being her birthday. A happy-time was spent by all, thirty or forty people being present from Patea, Alton, Kakaramea, Hurleyville and Whenuakura. Dancing, games and cards helped to pass the evening. After supper Mr, Charlie Harris asked Miss Hall to accept the numerous gifts from her friends and wished her many more years of health and happiness. The singing of “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow" was followed by a short speech of thanks by Miss Hall.
