The Matakana, which has been loading 10 500 boxes of butter and 10,655 crates ofcheeso at New Plymouth for Britain, was expected to sail at midnight last for Timaru. She was to have gone to°Wellington direct but will now proceed there from Timaru. She will leave Wellington on Wednesday for Napier •to complete, and is scheduled to clear Napier on January 25 for London, via the Panama Canal .and Kingston. PORT CAROLINE ON JANUARY 27. The Port Caroline is now expected at New Plymouth on January 27 to load 5000 boxes of butter, 7000 crates of cheese and 10,500 freight carcases of meat for Britain. She is to be despatched from Auckland about February for London, via Cape Horn, and Montevideo. NORFOLK EXPECTED NEXT WEEK. The Norfolk is due at New Plymouth about Thursday next to load 15,500 freight carcases of meat, 6000 crates of cheese and 4500 boxes of butter for west coast of Britain. She was to have commenced loading at Wellington next Monday where, she was due in ballast from Falmouth but she will now make Wanganui her first port. The Norfolk will proceed to New Plymouth, Wellington, Gisborne and Auckland and is scheduled to clear Auckland finally on February 3 for London, Avonrnouth, Liverpool and Glasgow, via the Panama canal. NORTHUMBERLAND AT COLON. Cabled advice has been received by the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Federal steamer Northumberland left Colon on January 9. She left Napier on December 21 for London, Avonrnouth, Liverpool and Glasgow. The Northumberland loaded dairv produce and meat at New Plymouth on December 3. MATAR.OA LEAVES AUCKLAND. The Shaw, Savill and Albion liner Mataroa left Auckland yesterday for Southampton and London, via Panama. In addition to passengers and mail, the vessel has a cargo of New Zealand produce.

Over 7600 tons of phosphates from Ocean Island will be brought by the Swedish motor-ship Astoria, -which is due at Auckland, on Saturday afternoon. Tho Astoria will be in port for about a week, the whole of her cargo being for discharge at Auckland. MOVEMENTS OF THE PAKEHA. The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Pakeha left Auckland for Wellington yesterday to complete loading for England.
