WAR AND PEACE

SYDNEY’S MUSEUM.

TWO MILLION VISITORS.

Sydney, Deci 31. Nearly 2,000,000 people have visited the Australian War Memorial Museum since it was opened, and the daily average is 350—“ with an increasing tendency,” says Mr. L. J. Bain, the curator. ' “Although the aim of this museum is net to glorify war, but to perpetuate the memory of the gallantry of the .Australian soldier,” says Mr. Bain, “1 should imagine that this is one great home of peace—paradoxical as it may seem.. “People generally realise after a visit here that war is pretty futile, and although we have eliminated any some aspects, there is no. doubt about the effect on the public mind.”
