NO FREE KINDERGARTENS
NO GOVERNMENT AID NEXT YEAR. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Dec. 22. A serious blow to free kindergartens is contained in a memorandum from the Education Director that no Government grants will be available for them after the current year. The amount received by Dunedin in the pact has been about £lOOO, and a heavy curtailment of the scope of the schools is inevitable. A conference this morning to decide what steps to take was presided over by Sir T. K. Sidey. '
