ATHLETICS At OPUNAKE
MORGAN WINS CYCLE RACE. Many spectators witnessed the evening athletic sports on Thursday at Opunake. The principal item of the programme was the eight mile cycle race from the High School gates to the comer of the Arawhata Road and back. P. Morgan proved a tough proposition for the other competitors, and riding well, won from Maindonald and Johnson. Lithgow, a fairly experienced rider, made good, time from scratch, covering the distance in 18min 15sec. Taylor was runner-up for the fastest time, just beating Waterhouse.
