PEERS’ AMENDMENT ACCEPTED. SHELVING PROPOSAL REJECTED. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Rec. 8.30 p.m. London, Dec. 8. The House of Commons has agreed to the House of Lords amendment to the Statute of Westminster Bill making it operate from the time the Royal assent is given, and rejected the shelving amendment proposed by Mr. E. Marjoribanks, the effect of which, speakers declared, would be to wreck the Bill.
