When Jean Campbell, aged 23, a .kitdhenmaid, was charged at Tower Bridge Police Court, London, recently with a breach of recognisance—she had run away from a home, where she had been placed by the Court—she said a young man was willing to marry her. The man, Ronald Jones, told the Court that he was willing to marry the girl, and when asked how he intended to keep her said he was ''on the dole,” and could get another 9s a week for his wife.
