HUNDRED DEATHS AT PERTH. heat wave believed cause. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. Perth, Deo. 9. Over 100 people have died from influenza in Perth in the last few-days.

The outbreak is attributed to the heat wave. The temperature averaged 99 degrees for five days, the highest being 101 degrees on Monday. Twenty-one funerals were conducted at the Karrakatta cemetery, which is the highest total for any day since the cemetery was opened 32 years ago. ! The previous record of deaths was 19, in 1919, when the influenza epidemic was raging. Yesterday’s record went to 29.
