QUESTION OF CHAIRMANSHIP. MR. A. HENDERSON’S POSITION. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Dec. 7. The Foreign Secretary, Sir Johfi Simon, replying to a question in the House of Commons, said it was not within the Government’s province to propose a "new chairman to the Geneva disarmament conference in place of Mr. Arthur Henderson. Mr. J. C. C. Davidson: Has not Mr. Henderson offered to resign, seeing that he does not represent in the general sense the Commons? ■ Sir John Simon: The choice was not the Commons’, but the League Council’s, which unanimously favoured Mr. Henderson.
