WELLINGTON WOOL SALES
BUYERS HAVE RIGID LIMITS GOOD GENERAL COMPETITION.. MUCH PASSED OR WITHDRAWN - . By Telegraph.—Press Association. : I Wellington, Dec. 8. The chairman of the Wellington Woolbrokers’ Association, Mr. Hammond, remarked on the good attendance of buyers at ths Wellington wdol sale today, and the general competition, buV buyers were obviously operating on rigid'; ; limits. • >■= Low crossbred and inferior wools - were more or less neglected, and unfortunately the wool was opened up in not eo attractive condition as is usual at •. Wellinston. The first sales in this centre have been noted for the large percentage of superfine crossbreds offering, but so far this season these qualities i have not come into the catalogues. The principal demand was Jor half- j bred, and these wools were slightly dearer, and for crossbreds conspicuously, which were on par as compared with the rates ruling at the Napier sale last week. The total wool catalogued was 23,268 bales, but there were heavy withdrawals f and frequent passings. Yorkshire and the Continent were keen for wools up to their restricted limits. There was a large attendance of the public, and a full bench of buyers, and prices appear to be equal to those at - Napier. 1
