MATAPU AND OKAIAWA TENNIS.

The Matapu Tennis Club played its first match of the competition against Okaiawa at Te Ngutu Park. The result was a win for Okaiawa by 16 sets and 118 games against Matapu’s 8 sets and 87 games. Details of play are as follow, Matapu players being mentioned first: —

Hawera last night at a social and dinner. There was a large attendance of Oddfellows, including Bio. H. S. Al. Quigley, Dannevirke, New Zealand Grand Master, and Bro. A. G. Shrimpton, Wellington, New Zealand Secretary. BUSINESS NOTICES. An annual event of importance and interest at Okaiawa is the Presbyterian flower show, which will take place in the hall on Wednesday. Entries close on Tuesday at 8 p.m. On Wednesday evening . there will be a concert by Hawera and Normanby talent.
