’LAIN TOFFEE. (Sent by Doris Ayson.) Put on a saucepan half full of water and add- 1A cups of sugar, and two teaspoons of butter; stir this until it boils and allow to boil for 15 minutes. Then drop a little in cold water; if it hardens it is ready to pour on buttered dish.
